    • A layer-built electrophotography photosensitive element comprising a conductive support, a carrier generating layer formed on the conductive support and containing an organic carrier generating substance, and an electron transporting carrier transporting layer formed on the carrier generating layer and containing an organic electron transporting substance and a binder, wherein the electron transporting substance is contained in the electron transporting carrier transporting layer in a molecule coagulated state and exhibits a new absorption component on the 20 nm or longer wavelength side of the peak wavelength of single molecule absorption of the electron transporting substance, and the weight ratio of the electron transporting substance to the binder in the electron transporting carrier transporting layer is 25/100-200/100. With this constitution, an electrophotography photosensitive element which has a small residual potential and secures a satisfactory image contrast is provided.
