    • A multiplex gathering device (10) is provided. The multiplex gathering device includes a first gatherer (100) forming first gathered printed products (142) on a first finishing line (130), the first finishing (130) line having a trimmer (138) and a second gatherer (200) forming second gathered printed products (242) on a second finishing line (230), the second finishing line having a second trimmer (238). The multiplex gathering device (10) also includes a collecting device (300) which combines the first and second gathered printed products together, a first transporter (140) transporting the first gathered products (142) from the first line (130) to the collecting device (300) and a second transporter (240) transporting the second gathered products (242) from the second line (230) to the collecting device (300). At least one controller (12) is provided for the multiplex gathering device for controlling the first gatherer (100) and second gatherer (200) and for collecting the first and second printing products (142, 242) in a controlled manner on the collecting device (300). A method for a multiplex gathering device is also provided.
