In one embodiment the sixth and seventh harmonics are removed to provide a first signal to one or more of the HIF detection device and from that signal the fifth harmonic is removed to provide a second signal to the other of the HIF detection devices. In another embodiment all of the above harmonics are removed from prior to the detection device(s).

摘要： A technique for dynamically determining the occurrence of a high impedance fault (HIF) independent of load. An HIF algorithm provides the energy value for a given number of samples of the input signal that is phase (load) currents and/or neutral (residual) current. The input signal energy value is multiplied by a factor that ranges from about 100% to about 300% to calculate a threshold energy value and the result of that calculation is stored in a buffer. A HIF detection signal is generated when the energy value determined for samples of the input signal that are the same in number as the given number of samples and taken after the given number of samples is greater than an energy value derived from a predetermined number of the calculated threshold energy values.

The power plant includes a wind farm with a plurality of wind turbines,a grid power converter(such as one or more HVDC links), a sensor to measure the frequency of a power grid, and a supervisory controller. The supervisory controller implements a control algorithm that adjusts the power output from the power plant in response to the frequency of the power grid dropping below a first target frequency by changing the pitch of the blades of at least one wind turbine, increasing the level of a portion of the power contributed by at least one wind turbine, or increasing the level of the power output by the grid power converter.

摘要： A cutout is used in an electrical distribution network to electrically connect a first electric cable with a second electrical cable, The cutout includes an electrically non-conductive insulator having first and second end. A first terminal assembly is secured to the first insulator end. A second terminal assembly is secured to the second insulator end. A failsafe fuse assembly is pivotally secured to the second terminal and is movable between an engaged position and a lockout position. A reclosing mechanism is secured to the first terminal and monitors electrical current through the fuse assembly. If a fault condition exists, the reclosing mechanism opens and then closes the electrical link between the first and second electrical cable. If, after a predetermined number of closes, the fault condition still exists, the reclosing mechanism disconnects from the fuse assembly, allowing the fuse assembly to fall to the lockout position.
