    • The method comprises first the addition of a water dissolved polyelectrolytic reactant in an emulsion to be broken which has been appropriately stirred so that the whole oil phase is distributed as many filaments which are then recovered by an extraction element. In a first embodiment, said filaments are catched by a helix (1); a system of two screws, one (4) carried by the shaft (2) of the helix, the other (5) carried by a counter-cylinder (3), lifts the oil mass separated from the water towards a screw pump (6) which discharges said mass in a piping (8). In an other embodiment, the rotation motion generated by the flow of water to be treated in the revolution vat (18) causes the precipitation of oil micelles in the form of filaments and the agglomeration of those micelles when the filaments reach the axis (22) thereby forming an oily mass (27). The oily mass (27) which comes out from the vat (18) through the orifice (20) at the same time as water, is separated from the water by a grid or screen (25) which is only traversed by the water. Among various possible applications, it may be mentioned the breaking of used cutting oil emulsions.
