Three-dimensional images of pore structure within a microporous polyolefin film comprise a plurality of aligned confocal microscope images wherein each confocal microscope image comprises a two-dimensional image of pore structure at a depth within the film.

摘要： The present invention provides methods and compositions for modulating FGF-signaling and activities associated therewith, such as mitogenesis and angiogenesis. In particular, the invention provides crystal structure coordinates for a ternary complex of an FGF-receptor, and FGF ligand, and a third compound, sucrose octasulfate, that binds to the FGF receptor and ligand to promote formation and dimerization of the ternary complex. Screening methods are provided by which novel agonists and antagonist for FGF-mediating signaling and activities may be identified using these crystal structure coordinates. Exemplary compounds are also provided that have novel utilities as agonists or antagonists of FGF-mediated signaling and activites.

摘要： Rental equipment such as television sets are provided with a timer (16) which operates a relay (54) to connect power to the equipment only during the time for which rental has been paid. The timer (16) includes a magnetic reader head (66) and decoder (72) to produce digital signals corresponding with a magnetic stripe (36) which has been encoded with rental period and identifying information at the location where the rent is paid. The timer (16) contains a real-time clock (58) and a microprocessor (64) to compare the current time with the time in the rental period. A power supply (52) for the timer (16) derives energy from the same power lines (50) used for the rental equipment, but a battery (60) is also provided to power the clock (58) alone when the power supply (52) is not energized. Displays of the current time (84) and rental expiration time (80) are provided, as well as visible (30) and audible alarms (88) to warn of the approach of the end of the rental period.
