    • Olefins or mixtures of olefins, particularly propene or mixtures of propene advantageously with ethene, can be polymerized using a Ziegler-Natta catalyst system containing one or more compounds suited for controlling the stereospecificity of the produced polymer, i.e. to increase the isotacticity and the stiffness. Such a compound called an external donor may also have other effects. For this target a mixture of two or more compounds comprising at least two silanes of which at least one has a very high hydrogen sensitivity and another having a low hydrogen sensitivity, but a high stereospecificity can be used. Advantageously the first compound is selected from the group of dimethoxysilanes having aliphatic cyclic or branched hydrocarbon groups, e.g., dimethoxydicyclopentylsilane, and the second one is selected from the group of triethoxysilanes having a bulky branched or linear alkyl group, advantageously i-butyl, n-octyl and phenyl group.
