摘要： A media centering spindle assembly (10) with a spindle body (13) and a clutch drive assembly (60). The spindle body (13) includes a centering mechanism (39) such as a rack (40, 41) and pinion (42) or centering slat (115). The centering mechanism (39) is configured to center and retain a media roll (11), ribbon supply or the like along the spindle body (13) and includes at least one spring tab (47b). The spring tab (47b) is deflectable from an initial position to a second position below a surface of the spindle body (13) to allow the mounting of the media roll (11) or the like. The assembly may be further configured as rotatable about a longitudinal axis of the spindle body (13) with the clutch drive assembly (60) having a friction level adjustable by rotation of a clutch adjuster (85) about the longitudinal axis of the spindle body (13).
