摘要： An ostomy coupling comprises two rings which can be interengaged concentrically. The inner ring (1a) has a peripheral flange (2) at one end for attachment to an abdominal pad (3a) and a radially outwardly directed peripheral bead (6) at its other end; whilst the outer ring (1b) has a radially outwardly directed flange (7) for attachment to an ostomy pouch (8a), and a lip (11) which engages behind the peripheral bead (6) on the inner ring in order to secure the two rings of the coupling together. The flange (7) on the outer coupling ring includes a sitffening member (10) which is disposed so as to restrain the outer coupling ring from expanding away from the inner coupling ring when the two parts of the coupling are interengaged in use.

摘要： A coupling for coupling an ostomy pouch (5) to a pad (1) to be adhesively attached to the abdomen about the stoma of a user comprises two interengaging rings (7, 3), respectively attached to said pouch and to said pad about an aperture (2) for passage of the stoma through said coupling device into said pouch. The ring (3) attached to the pad (1) includes a peripheral bead (9) on the radially outer surface of the ring and the ring (7) attached to the pouch (5) is larger than the ring attached to the pad and includes a resilient lip (22) extending from the radially inner surface of said latter ring, the free end (23) of said lip facing towards the aperture in said pouch. The two parts of the coupling are engaged by fitting the ring on the pouch (7) over the ring on the pad (3) such that the lip (22) is deflected as it passes over the peripheral bead (9) and the free end of said lip becomes engaged behind said peripheral bead to hold the coupling secure. The coupling is disengaged by pulling on the ring attached to the pouch such that the resilient lip is caused to deflect back over the bead (9).

摘要： An ostomy appliance comprises a coupling for joining a pad or dressing (2) to an ostomy bag (4) including a first member (3) of closed loop form for defining a stoma aperture (4a) therein said first member having a formation (10) which defines two opposed walls, and a second member (1) of closed loop form also defining a stoma aperture (6), the second member having a rib or projection (8) dimensioned and positioned to fit between and resiliently engage with both of said walls when the members are connected in such a way as to make a sealing engagement therebetween. The two opposed walls each include an inwardly extending region (11) thereby defining a narrowed opening between said walls and each of the two opposite sides of the rib or projection (8) includes a laterally extending region (9) disposed such that said latter regions pass between said narrowed opening when the two parts of the coupling are interconnected and engage said inwardly extending regions.
