    • In prior art pressure control valves the valve closing body is secured to the diaphragm; this not only increases production costs but also means that the mass to be moved is great, thus reducing the rate of reaction to pressure changes. In the novel pressure control valve, the mass to be moved on the diaphragm (40) is reduced by fitting a valve seat body (43) with a valve seat surface (44) in the central region of the diaphragm (40) so that when the valve seat surface (44) is lifted from the valve closing body (30), fuel to be controlled can flow from the pressure control side (45) of the diaphragm (40) to the return flow side (47) of the diaphragm (40) via the valve seat surface (44) and a return flow channel (54). The pressure control valve is particularly suitable for use in fuel supply systems in internal combustion engines.
