    • The invention relates to a process for wire patenting in which, after passing through a lead bath (1), the wire (3) is drawn on a flat, rising path controlled by guides (2, 4, 9) through a bed (7) of loose abrasive material, preferably coke grit and the wire path inside the granulated bed is changed at intervals or continuously. In wire patenting, the lead bath (1) serves to drop the wire temperature very rapidly and within narrow tolerances from about 1000 to about 500 DEG C, thus giving a microstructure easily drawn. In order to ensure the continuous cleansing of lead from the wire with the part of the process of wire patenting relating to the partial regeneration of the coke grit stripping bed (7), it is proposed according to the invention that the wire path within the granulated bed be determined by three guide members, with the outer two (2, 4) fixed and the centre one (9) movable.

    • The invention relates to a steel cord, specially to reinforce rubber or synthetic material articles, and a method for its production. The steel cord consists of a strand (10) having at least two individual filaments (20). The individual filaments (20) are winding each other in spiral. According to the invention disclosed, the strand (10) has also a spiral shape. The method disclosed for producing said steel cord foresees that firstly at least two strands (10a) having at least two individual filaments are formed, in which the individual filaments are wound together in spiral. The strands (10a) are pulled from spools (30) and wounded into a rope using a perforated disk (40). The rope is twisted in a false twisting machine (50) and given a plastic shape. Next, the twisted and plastic shaped rope is unwound when it comes out of the false twisting machine (50). The resulting spiral-shaped strands (10b) are then wound on winding spools (60).
