    • The present disclosure relates to a fiber comprising: an organosilane having the formula: (R 1 ) (3-n) (R 2 O) n SiR 3 O(CH 2 CH 2 O) a (C 3 H 6 O) b R 4 wherein: n is 1 or 2; a ≥ 1, b may vary from 0 to 30, with the proviso a≥b; R 1 is a hydrocarbon group containing 1 to 12 carbon atoms; R 2 is hydrogen or an alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms; R 3 is a divalent hydrocarbon group containing 2 to 12 carbon atoms; and R 4 is hydrogen, R 1 , or an acetyl group. The disclosure also relates to methods of improving at least one of the absorption of moisture, wet strength via anti-fibrillation, and pilling resistance of a surface comprising treating the surface with a composition comprising the aforementioned organosilane. The present organosilane compositions may be useful for treating various surfaces to render them, among other things, more hydrophilic.
