    • A coupling apparatus for fluid dispensing with a disposable connector on the fluid line or fluid dispensing system side. The coupling apparatus includes an insert body (20) that is connectable with a disposable connector device (30). The insert body (20) includes a recess area (23) defined between a first inner sidewall (28) and a second inner sidewall (26). The second inner sidewall (26) extends coaxially with the first inner sidewall (28), and has an aperture defining an opening (29) through a first and second end (22, 24). The connector device (30) includes a connector body (36) connected with an adapter portion (38). The connector body (36) includes a beveled end (32a) that is insertable through the aperture of the second inner sidewall. The adapter portion (38) is disposed proximate and extends past the beveled end (32a), where the beveled end is recessed within the adapter portion (38). An insertion space (33) is defined between the beveled end (32a) and an outer wall defined by the adapter portion. The adapter portion (38) is insertable into the recess area (33) and the insertion space (33) is receivable of the second inner sidewall (26).

    • A penetrable membrane structure (120) for incorporation in a flow path of a coupling includes a body having a first face and an opposite second face (123), one of the first and second faces including at least one major portion (122A) and at least one minor portion (122B). The major portion includes a major thickness between the first and second faces that is greater than a minor thickness of the minor portion, and the minor portion forms a channel transversely extending into one of the first or second faces, the channel of the minor portion including sidewalls (124) each adjacent to the major portion. The sidewalls of the channel extend toward each other in a converging configuration.
