摘要： Antimicrobial compositions based on the synergistic combination of an amino acid derivative having at least one chiral center and selected commercial microbicides are disclosed. Particularly preferred are combinations of ethylenediaminedisuccinic acid and salts thereof together with 5-chloro-2- methyl-3-isothiazolone, 2-methyl-3-isothiazolone, 2-n-octyl-3-isothiazolone, benzisothiazolone, 2-bromo-2-nitro-1,3-propanediol, imidazolidinyl urea, 1,3-dimeth- ylol-5,5-dimethylhydantoin, phenoxyethanol or methyl parahydroxybenzoate, that provide enhanced antimicrobial efficacy at a combined active ingredient level lower than that of the combined individual amino acid derivative and commercial microbicide effective use levels.

摘要： Concentrated aqueous alkaline isotropic liquid detergent composition comprising a mixture of nonionic surfactant and anionic surfactant, together with a hydrotrope and dissolved hydrogen peroxide. The formulation comprises greater than 40 % total surfactant when nonionic rich or greater than 30 % total surfactant when anionic rich. Anionic rich compositions may contain builder or be unbuilt. The compositions are preferably substantially free from ethanol or other C1-4 monohydric alcohols to reduce the explosion risk from a mixture of low flashpoint alcohol and peroxide. The disclosed compositions are suitable for use as laundry detergents and possess the advantage of reduced pH drift while maintaining high peroxide levels over a period of time.

The composition additionally contains citrate and the total surfactant level is at least 30 %, preferably 35 %. The use of citrate in the composition is found to give reduced downward pH drift compared to the corresponding non-citrate formulations. Peroxide stability in both types of formulation is similar.

摘要： Aqueous alkaline isotropic liquid detergent composition comprising a mixture of nonionic and anionic surfactants and hydrgen peroxide. The composition is suitable for use as a laundry detergent and is characterised in that it contains a mixture of two hydrotropes, one of which is an aryl sulphonate hydrotrope. The use of the specific combination of two hydrotropes in these compositions results in reduced pH drift without compromising peroxide stability. This feature of reduced pH drift is unexpected since when used individually in a complete formulation, the hydrotropes promote pH drift towards the acid.
