摘要： A fiber-based reflective lighting device and a housed lighting device. The fiber-based reflective lighting device which includes a source configured to generate a primary light, and a substrate having a nanocomposite mat of reflective fibers having a diameter less than 1,000 nm which diffusively reflects light upon illumination with at least the primary light. The nanocomposite mat includes a reflectance-enhancing coating conformally disposed around an outer surface of the fibers, having a refractive index different from the reflective fibers, and which increases a reflectance of the substrate in the visible spectrum. The lighting device includes a light exit configured to emanate the reflected light. The housed lighting device includes a housing, a source configured to generate primary light and direct the primary light into the housing, the reflective nanocomposite mat of reflective fibers, and a light exit in the housing configured to emanate the reflected light from the housing.

摘要： A process and system for separating C0 2 from a flue gas stream is disclosed. The process involves (a) contacting a flue gas stream containing water vapor and C0 2 with an ionic absorbent under absorption conditions to absorb at least a portion of the CO 2 from the flue gas stream and from a C0 2 -absorbent complex; wherein the ionic absorbent comprises a cation and an anion comprising an amine moiety; and (b) recovering a gaseous product having a reduced C0 2 content.

摘要： A tracking system/method of hygiene device usage. The system/method involves an RFID reader within a location that automatically detects an entering attendant RFID tag. Respective passive RFID readers and/or RFID dispenser tags coupled to the hygiene devices are activated upon hygiene device activation. All RFID readers are coupled with interface adapters that communicate reader information to a remote location for analysis/reporting. If attendant enters the location, a timer starts to monitor time it takes the attendant to activate the hygiene device in the location. Alternatively, if the attendant activates another hygiene device located just outside the specified location, the timer monitors how long after that activation it takes for the attendant to enter the location. Upon attendant exit, the system/method tracks activation of the hygiene device in the location and prompt departure of attendant, or upon departing the location, he/she promptly activates the hygiene device located outside the location.

摘要： A configuration (600), all components of which are man portable, for holding inexpensive composite panels (100) that protect assets against external force and impacts from airborne projectiles. An open box-like stackable frame module (1400) holds thin panels (100) along a longitudinal axis of the frame (1300). Multiple frames (1400) are connected to construct a protective barrier, such as a wall (1500). The panels (100) may be formulated of a very high strength portland cement-based concrete with one side, both sides, or both sides and all edges, covered with elastic material, the combination of which significantly reduces penetration of projectiles. A panel (100) may be covered with specially formulated elastic material (103) comprising multiple layers, each layer of a different type or thickness of elastic material (103). The elastic material (103) may include reinforcing material such as fabric woven from available COTS high-strength fibers. The panels (100) may be fabricated using basic means available in rural locations. A method of installing is also provided.
