摘要： An assembly for use with a syringe having a barrel and a needle includes a sealing element surrounding and positioned over at least a portion of the distal end of the syringe. An adapter at least partially surrounds the sealing element and is positioned over the distal end of the syringe. The adapter has a first skin contacting surface positioned at a distal end thereof. At least a portion of the first skin contacting surface extends generally parallel to at least a terminal end of the needle. The adapter also has a second skin contacting surface positioned proximally relative to the terminal end of the needle and at an angle to the first skin contacting surface. A needle shield at least partially surrounds and is removably positioned over at least one of the adapter, the sealing element and the syringe barrel.

摘要： A prevention-based network auditing system including a central compliance server (10) generating network policies and configuring audits of the data communications network (13). The compliance server presents a graphical user interface (GUI) to describe the specific data gathering parameters, policies to be analyzed, and the schedule of analysis. One or more audit servers (12) strategically deployed around the network employ heterogeneous data-gathering tools to gather information about the network in response to the configured audits, and transmit the gathered information to the compliance server. An audit repository (14) stores the gathered information for use by the compliance server for security and regulatory policy assessment, network vulnerability analysis, report generation, and security improvement recommendations.

When the plunger is inserted into the second opening of the body and the needle shield is inserted into the first opening of the body, opposing forces are applied to the syringe and the body for removing the needle shield from the syringe.

The rigid needle shield includes an elongated flexible member (20) connected to a sidewall of the rigid needle shield for moving the rigid needle shield between a first relaxed position and a second flexed position. When in the first relaxed position, the elongated flexible member is substantially within the rigid needle shield. However, when the elongated flexible member is moved to the second flexed position, the elongated flexible member extends beyond a proximal end of the rigid needle shield to engage a needle hub or a shoulder of the syringe to move the rigid needle shield distally relative to the syringe.
