The wheel rim includes an inboard tire bead seat retaining flange, an inner tire bead seat, a well, an outer tire bead seat, and an outboard tire bead seat retaining flange. The wheel disc defines a wheel axis and includes an inner wheel mounting pad, an outer annular rim connecting flange and a plurality of radial spokes connecting the inner wheel mounting pad to the rim connecting flange. The wheel disc includes a separate window formed therein. The inner wheel mounting pad includes at least one rib provided therein. The rib has an outer surface and an inner surface, at least one of the outer surface and the inner surface is provided with a flat planar surface.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the fabricated vehicle wheel includes a wheel rim having a plurality of holes formed therein; a wheel disc having a central mounting surface and a plurality of outwardly extending spokes, each of the spokes having at least one hole formed therein; at least one rim to disc interface area provided along each of the spokes wherein some portion of a surface of the rim and some portion of a surface of the spoke contact one another; an adhesive deposited in at least some portion of the rim to disc interface area; and at least one fastener extending through the holes of the rim and the spokes to secure the rim and disc together.

摘要： A portable metrological instrument for measuring surface finish parameters has a main housing (1) which sits on a workbench (5). A slidable arm (3) can be extended or retracted over the bench (5) so as to move a stylus (21) over a workpiece (25). The stylus (21) is fitted to a gauge (19) mounted to the end of the arm (3). The mounting includes a vertically movable slider (15) which incorporates a mechanism for lifting the stylus (21) away from the workpiece (25) and lowering it back. The operation of the instrument is controlled by modular software which can be reprogrammed using an external device, and the machine is operated by a control panel (37) on the housing (1) or by an identical control panel (53) on a remote controller (55). The gauge includes an inductive sensor (75, 77), and the associated circuit includes automatically adjustable error cancelling devices (177, 179). The control system uses the sensed position of the arm (3) to estimate the speed of the motor (145) which drives the arm (3), avoiding the need for a shaft encoder on the motor (145).

摘要： A method of forming a wheel disc starts with a flat blank. A plurality of windows are formed in the wheel disc, wherein each window has a respective outer edge proximate with a continuous outer band around a periphery of the wheel disc. The windows define a plurality of spokes between adjacent windows, and the angular size of each of the windows along the outer band is preferably greater than the angular size of each of the spokes. The outer band is partially closed toward a cylindrical shape by engaging a cam die against at least a portion of the outer band. The outer band is substantially fully closed into a cylindrical shape by axially wiping the outer band using a cylindrical die. The intermediate camming operation achieves the desired final shape after wiping without introducing stresses that would weaken or distort the wheel disc.
