摘要： A method and strapping retainer (26) are provided for securing loaded goods (12) on pallets (10). The method comprises positioning strapping retainers (26) along a peripheries of the loaded goods (12), spanning elongate strapping members (38) around the loaded goods (12) and across the strapping retainers (26), tensioning the strapping members (38) and attaching the strapping members (38) to the pallets (10) by passing them adjacent retaining formations (30) defined on the strapping retainers (26). The strapping retainer (26) comprising a body defining an engagement formation for engaging a periphery of the loaded goods (12), and one or more retaining formations (30) adjacent which the strapping members (38) can extend. The retaining formations (30) are configured to retain the strapping members (38) against sliding along the peripheries of the loaded goods (12).

摘要： A pallet (10) comprises a pallet body (12) of a plastic material, with a load deck (14) that is convex along at least one direction of curvature (30) when the pallet body (14) is unloaded, with one or more straps (32) that extend at least partly across the underside of the pallet body (14) along the direction of curvature (30). When the pallet (10) is loaded, the centre of the pallet body (14) is pushed down by the payload, but the strap (32) resists straightening of the pallet body (14), so that the pallet (10) can carry large payloads, even when only supported on opposing edges, in racking systems.

摘要： A pre-stressed, reinforced pallet (10) and a method for making the pallet (12) are provided. The pallet includes a body (12) with an elongate support element (24), generally parallel to its deck (14), preferably with its ends anchored in the body (12). The support element (24) is under tension and exerts a compressive load on the body (12), even before the pallet (10) is loaded, to provide stiffness to the pallet (10). The pallet (10) is made by exerting a compressive load on the body (12) from opposing sides and connecting the support elements (24) to the pallet body (12) before releasing the compressive load.
