摘要： The present invention relates generally to wireless communication and more specifically, but not exclusively, to handover support for communication systems having base stations operated by different operators. In one exemplary embodiment, a handover request is received at a first gateway from a mobile station. The first gateway performs a handover procedure through a secure communication connection with the second, target gateway. An authenticator is relocated from the first gateway to the second gateway following an authenticator relocation and re- authentication procedure initiated by the mobile station. An anchor data path function relocation procedure initiated by the second gateway is thereafter responded to by the first gateway.

In one embodiment, the system includes an access service network device configured to receive a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) message, including protocol configuration information of a mobile station, and to relay at least a portion of the protocol configuration information to a data server to which the mobile station seeks access. The protocol configuration information is translated to a protocol used by the access service network device and the data server, before relaying the protocol configuration information. The access service network device can act as a proxy or a relay between the mobile station and the data server. According to an embodiment, the wireless communication system includes a WiMAX communication system.

摘要： Certain embodiments of the present invention provide a system and method for optimization of a WiMAX self-organized network (SON) for providing automatic neighbor relation (ANR) operation to obtain up-to-date Macro BS and WFAP neighbor information surrounding the WFAP. In one embodiment, a WFAP detects a change in neighbor base station information. Subsequently, the WFAP sends updated neighbor base station information to a SON server for validation.
