    • A method for making a grain-oriented electric steel sheet, particularly for producing magnetic transformer circuits, comprising continuously casting steel into a steel slab or strip containing less than 0.1 % of carbon, 2.5-4 % of silicon and at least the elements aluminium, nitrogen, manganese, sulphur and copper for forming normal growth inhibiting precipitates; heating the slab or strip; hot-rolling the slab or strip to give a sheet 1-5 mm thick; hot-coiling the hot-rolled sheet; annealing the hot-rolled sheet; cold-rolling to a final thickness of less than 0.5 mm; performing primary recrystallisation and decarburisation annealing in a moist atmosphere; applying magnesia (MgO) to at least one side of the decarburised sheet; performing final secondary recrystallisation and purification annealing; applying an insulating coating and performing final coating curing annealing. The method is characterised in that, after the slab or strip has been produced, the steel comprising 0.02-0.09 wt % of carbon, 2.5-4 wt % of silicon, 0.027-0.17 wt % of manganese, 0.007-0.020 wt % of sulphur, 0.010-0.030 wt % of aluminium, 0.004-0.012 wt % of nitrogen, and 0.06-0.50 wt % of copper, with the balance being iron and impurities, is heated to a temperature higher than 1200 DEG C but no higher than 1300 DEG C, and when the hot-rolled sheet has been produced, the hot-rolled sheet is coiled at 500-700 DEG C.
