摘要： A microwave filter (30) and method of fabrication is provided in which an integral housing (22) defining a cavity (23) is formed from a blank (20) cut from a conductive sheet. The blank is bent to form the housing. The resultant housing includes resonators, resonator taps, tuning holes and tap apertures. Capacitance tabs and coupling tabs are added to the housing for tuning of the filter. The tabs are adjusted by access through the tuning holes in the blank. The blank further defines stops which align the taps with lines of a microstrip circuit when the filter is installed therein and grounding tabs for grounding to the microstrip ground plane. The filter may be in comblike or interdigital configuration.

摘要： With the present decoder/interdiction device combination (566), the microcontroller (518) receives authorization data from a data receiver (568) via its data output (570) that has been inserted at the headend to identify authorized subscribers (preferably identified with a predefined subscriber or box code in the microcontroller (518). The same microcontroller (518) that controls the common decrypting of a commonly encrypted input source (572), loads the channel interdiction table (516) according to the authorization data, e.g., according to tiers. The data in the interdiction table (516) is then used to control the operation of the frequency synthesizer/VCO (516) and the mute switch (522) using the control interface (528) and mute control signal (534) according to the previously described algorithm. This improved combination now permits the simultaneous reception of multiple unencrypted signals (suitable for picture-in-picture use) while still permitting the provider to withhold access to selected channels.

The antenna/downconverter (34) includes a director (40) mounted to a housing (38) which defines a reflector cup (64), side lobe suppression rim (48) and a housing defining a chamber which provides environmental protection for downconverter electronics. Received microwave energy is coupled to the downconverter electronics from a point radially inward from the perimeter of a first receive disc (82) axially spaced within the reflector cup (64) using a probe surrounded by a conductive probe shield (88) integral to the reflector cup. A second receive disc (94) having a different radius than the first receive disc and axially spaced within the reflector cup is parasitically coupled to the first probe. The housing (38) defines a plurality of pair of jaws (122) which facilitate alignment to cross-polarized microwave signals when an installer receives a mounting mast (36) in a selected one of the jaws.
