    • The invention relates to a restorable high-speed circuit closer capable of rapidly short-circuiting the conductors in a multi-phase network, for example for the purpose of eliminating a fault arc. The rapidity of the circuit closer is achieved by releasing, bymeans of an electrically controlled latch (28), the required operating energy in a prestressed torsion spring (14) to which radially extending short-circuiting contact arms (18) are attached. In the open contact position, the contact arms are located midway between the fixed contacts (21) which are connected to the phase conductors to be short-circuited. The fixed contacts (21) are provided with resilient contact elements forming wedge-shaped grooves (23) into which the short-circuiting contact arms (18) slide during a closing operation. Adjacent to both the fixed and the movable contacts (18), shields for electric field equalization are arraanged such that the insulation distances between the contacts in the open position may be reduced. For the same reason, the contact arrangement is placed in a cylindrical cavity (34) with a gaseous insulating medium. The high-speed circuit closer is restored by tensioning the torsion spring with, for example, a torque wrench or a motor drive (31).

    • The present invention relates to a Compact Secondary Substation comprising a fault protection system and a method for fault protection in Compact Secondary Substations (CSS). The CSS comprises a Ring Main Unit (RMU), a transformer and a Low Voltage (LV) switchgear.The object of the invention is to fault protect a secondary switchgear, a further object of the invention is in fault situations to bring the secondary switchgear back in operation as soon as possible. The objects can be fulfilled by a system where the CSS comprises a number of detectors (114, 116, 118, 126, 128, 134), which detectors can be placed at least in one of the RMU, the transformer or in the LV switchgear, which detectors can be connected to a control unit (106), which control unit by fault detection by the detectors can activate a fast operating switch (112) for grounding.     • The present invention relates to a Compact Secondary Substation (CSS) containing at least one transformer (6, 108, 208) which is connected to a high voltage input (110, 210) and through a low voltage switch board (112, 212) to consumers. The object of the invention is to perform cooling of a CSS in a way that mostly isolates the inner volume of the CSS from atmospheric air. This object can be fulfilled if the transformer is cooled by a cooling system comprising a heat exchanger (8, 104, 214) in which a first medium and a secondary medium are circulated, where the first medium contains heat generated by the transformer and the secondary medium is circulated through pipes or tubes arranged in the soil around the CSS and is thus cooled by heat transmission towards the soil. Such a CSS can also have a much smaller volume than a typical air-cooled CSS.
