摘要： The present invention relates generally to the field of electronic sensors capable of determining the level of a flowable substance, such as liquid (including water). Such sensors typically comprise an elongate probe which is fixed within or proximal to a body of the flowable substance and are adapted to output an electrical signal or data that is used to estimate the level of the flowable substance around or proximal to the probe. In one form of the invention there is provided a capacitive level sensor probe being generally elongate and comprising conductors configured such that, in use, as the level of a flowable substance crosses a first predetermined point along the length of the sensor a first detectable alteration in capacitance is generated, and as the level of a flowable substance crosses a second predetermined point along the length of the sensor a second detectable alteration in capacitance is generated. A probe of this arrangement is amenable to use in an autocalibration method.

摘要： The present invention relates generally to unitary apparatus configured to dispense chilled water for human consumption, such as an on-bench, under-bench or floor-standing water chiller having a having an electrically powered compressor. In one form of the invention, there is provided a liquid cooling unit configured to dispense a cooled liquid beverage to a user. The liquid cooling unit includes a refrigeration system comprising (i) an evaporator to allow transfer of heat energy from an input liquid to a refrigerant contained within the refrigeration system, and (ii) a compressor in fluid communication with the evaporator, the compressor compressing refrigerant output from the evaporator portion, and (iii) a condenser in fluid communication with the compressor. The condenser allows transfer heat energy from the refrigerant out of the refrigeration system, and is in further fluid communication with the evaporator.

Such systems may be embodied in the form of a unitary apparatus including electrically powered on-bench, under-bench or freestanding water cooling units. A beverage dispensing unit is provided which comprises a first source of liquid having a relatively high level of carbonation, a second source of liquid having a relative low or zero level of carbonation, mixing means in liquid connection with the first and second sources of liquid configured to allow mixing of liquid from the first and second sources, and a controllable pump configured to convey liquid from the first or second source of water at a variable flow rate to the mixing means. The unit is configured such that the flow rate of the variable pump is controllable so as to provide a beverage having a variable mixture of liquids from the first and second sources of liquid so as to provide a beverage having a level of carbonation intermediate to that of the first and second sources of liquid.

摘要： The present invention is directed generally to the field carbonated beverage dispensing systems having a replaceable carbon dioxide storage cylinder. Such systems may be embodied in the form of a unitary apparatus including, but not exclusively, on-bench, under-bench or freestanding beverage cooling units. The invention may be embodied in the form of a beverage dispensing unit having a gas input connector configured to make gas tight connection to a gas container configured to hold a gas under pressure and a mass detection device. The gas input connector and mass detection device are arranged such that when a gas container is connected to the gas input connector, the mass detection device is capable of detecting a mass associated with the gas container. The unit may further have a gas container support extending from or about the mass detection device configured to maintain a gas container connected to the gas input connector in a position such that it bears on the mass detection device so as to allow the mass detection device to measure the mass of the gas container and any gas contained therein. Computer-implemented methods for monitoring the level of gas are also provided.
