The finish portion is configured to engage a lid member (150,250). The sealing lip (130) is disposed between the main body portion and the finish portion. The sealing lip extends inwardly from the perimeter of the main body portion and is configured to receive a sealing member (140) to seal the opening between the body portion chamber and the finish portion chamber.

The curved edge, together with the top, defines a channel (112) and the shelf, skirt and top define a compartment (402) in the interior region of the closure. The shelf can include a lip extending from the curved portion on the shelf into the compartment. The shelf can be formed from is a separate component from the top and skirt. The compartment is dimensioned to contain a predetermined amount of a substance to be dispensed from the container. The shelf (102) can extend across about 50% of the interior region of the closure. The (100) closure can be made by injection molding of two separate pieces.
