    • The invention relates to a shaving head (5) comprising at least two blade­shaped cutting members (7, 7', 7") each having a straight cutting edge (9, 9', 9") extending parallel to a longitudinal direction (Y) of the shaving head. Each cutting member is supported in a cartridge (11) of the shaving head by means of a supporting member (17) which supports the respective cutting member in a supported area (23) on the respective cutting member. Said supported area extends over a predetermined distance (D) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. Each supporting member has a first portion (25) in contact with the supported area at a location remote from the cutting edge of the respective cutting member and a second portion (27) in contact with the supported area at a location near the cutting edge of the respective cutting member. The first portion has a basic cross-sectional area, seen perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction, and the second portion has a reduced cross-sectional area. According to the invention, the second portion (27) of the supporting member (17) of at least one of the cutting members (7, 7', 7") extends over at least half of said predetermined distance (D). In this manner, the free space between two adjacent cutting members is considerably increased. As a result, the rinsability of the shaving head is improved, so that the risk of shaving debris accumulation between two adjacent cutting members is reduced.

    • The invention is directed to a shaving head (8) comprising at least one cutting blade (10, 12) and actively driveable skin stretching means (14) arranged behind said cutting blade (10, 12) relative to a cutting direction (16) of said cutting blade (10, 12). The actively driveable skin stretching means (14) are provided to reduce the possibility that ni cks and cuts or irritations of the skip to be shaved are created during the shaving operation. In accordance with the invention the shaving head (8) comprises means (18) for providing a pivot axis (20) between the shaving head (8) and a handie (22) attached or attachable to said shaving head (8), said pivot axis (20) being arranged at least essentially parallel to said cutting blade (10, 12). By providing the pivot axis (20) the force ratio between a force applied to the actively driveable skin stretching means (14) and forces applied to other parts ofthe shaving head (8) may be kept constant for différent angles of the handle.     • The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a cutting member (6) of a shaver (1). The method comprises the steps of providing a plate-shaped carrier (10), cutting at least one cutting element (9a, 9b) free from the carrier except for a residual connection between a base (15, 23) of the cutting element and the carrier, and bending the cutting element relative to the carrier. According to the invention the steps of cutting free and bending are performed simultaneously using a tool (11) having a combined punching and bending effect. By using such a tool the action of cutting free is obtained by a tearing process which does not lead to a free space and a loss of material between the cutting element (9a, 9b) and the carrier (10). As a result the strength of the carrier is not reduced by such a free space or loss of material.
