摘要： A wheel truing device for use in a cylindrical grinding machine comprising a rotary drive section fixed to a headstock or a member integrated with it, and a wheel truing tool supported on and rotary-driven by the rotary drive section and provided, on the outer circumference thereof, with a portion abutting against the grinding surface of a grinding wheel and truing it. The wheel turning device is characterized in that the rotary drive section is separated radially outward from a spindle to a position close to the headstock but not abutting against a workpiece in a tooling area closer to the workpiece side from the head stock by the range of the stroke length of relative movement in the Z direction, the rotation axis line of the wheel truing tool is directed toward the vicinity of the rotation axis line of the grinding wheel under a state where the truing portion is abutting against the grinding surface, and, when the wheel spindle stock is moved relatively with the headstock, the correcting portion of the wheel truing tool is allowed to abut against the grinding surface of the grinding wheel, thus truing it.
