    • A method for manufacturing an absorbent structure in an absorbent article, such as a sanitary napkin, a tampon, a panty protector, an incontinence guard, a diaper, a bed protector, a wound or sore dressing, a saliva absorbent and like article. The absorbent structure includes a dry-formed sheet which includes cellulose fibres and which has a density of between 0.2-1 g/cm and a surface weight between 30-2000 g/m . The sheet is formed by compressing a web of cellulose fibres and is produced in immediate conjunction with the manufacture of an absorbent article of the aforesaid kind, after conventional defibration and fluffing. The material is softened prior to being used as an absorbent material. The material has good fluid wicking properties and swelling properties effective for the function of the product. A high degree of surface dryness is obtained, among other things. In addition to cellulose fibres, the absorbent structure may also include superabsorbent material and/or binding fibres, among other things. The pulp mat is very thin, therewith obviating the need to further compress the mat in the product.

    • The present invention relates to a belted disposable absorbent article (1), such as an incontinence article or a diaper, having a longitudinal (y) and a transverse (x) extension and having an open position and a closed position, the article comprising: a front portion (5), a rear portion (6) and a crotch portion (7) there between, and a first and a second belt member (9, 9') attached to the front or rear portion (5,6) of the article and extending in the transverse (x) direction of the article, wherein said belt members (9, 9') each comprise an end portion (10, 10') and a remaining main portion, when in said closed position, said belt members (9, 9') are provided in an overlapping relationship to each other such that at least said end portion (10) of the first belt member (9) at least partially overlaps the main portion of second belt member (9'), and the article further comprises a fastening means (11) for fastening said belt members (9, 9') in the closed position. At least the outer surface of the end portion (10) of the first belt member (9) is tactilely distinguishable from the outer surface of the main portion of the second belt member (9'), for enhancing tactile identification of said end portion (10) in relation to the underlying main portion of the second belt member (9') when the article is in said closed position. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a belted disposable absorbent article.

    • The present invention relates to an absorbent body (3) which is intended to form the absorbent element in an absorbent article, such as a diaper, an incontinence guard or a sanitary napkin, and includes a first absorbent layer (16) which, in use, is intended to face towards the wearer, and a second absorbent layer (17) which is intended, in use, to face away from the wearer. According to the invention, the absorbent body (3) includes at least two mutually different cellulose fluffs, wherein the major part of the fibre structure of the first absorbent layer (16) is comprised of a first type of cellulose fluff having low liquid-spreading ability and a critical bulk which exceeds 8 cm /g at 2.5 kPa, while the major part of the fibre structure of the second absorbent layer (17) is comprised of a different type of cellulose fluff having a critical bulk beneath 8 cm /g at 2.5 kPa and a higher liquid-spreading ability than the cellulose fluff in the first absorbent layer (16). The second absorbent layer (17) will therefore be highly capable of draining liquid from the first absorbent layer (16). The second absorbent layer (17) includes superabsorbent material which is admixed generally uniformly in the cellulose fluff within at least one area of the layer (17).
