    • A golf putting apparatus is presented. The apparatus includes a putter with a shaft and a club head, wherein the club head has a center section carved out to form an opening. The bottom of the opening may be defined by a connector. When used with the opening uncovered, this putter provides the golfer with immediate feedback on his/her swing, such as whether the ball would have contacted the sweet spot of the club had the opening been closed, how hard the ball was hit, and which part of the ball was hit. A club face may be attached across the opening to "close" the opening so the putter may be used in a game.

    • A method of executing a virtual conference among a plurality of nodes including a first node, wherein there is a display device associated with the first node that is configured to display a virtual conference window containing images of participants at other nodes of the plurality of nodes, is presented. The method entails activating the virtual conference window in response to receiving a selection in the virtual conference window, wherein the activating of the virtual conference window triggers a process of identifying one of the nodes as an attention recipient and displaying the attention recipient's image differently than images of other nodes. Where private chat function is available, attention recipient may be identified based on who the participant at the first node is chatting with. Images may be augmented to add an illusion of space and distance.

    • A method and an apparatus for efficient resource sharing are presented. The apparatus includes a central unit having a plurality of surfaces on the outside, the central unit holding a resource. Compartments are coupled to the central unit, each of the compartments being placed adjacent to one of the surfaces of the central unit. Each compartment has a platform to support an object, and has a sensor that reads an output signal indicating that the object in the compartment has finished accessing the resource from the central unit. A computation unit receives and processes the output signal from each of the compartments. The sensor in the apparatus may be located in the central unit instead of in the compartments.

    • A computer-implemented method of determining particle size and a computer-readable medium storing instructions to execute such a method are presented. The method entails obtaining an image of at least one particle and a calibration mark, wherein the particle and the calibration mark were captured using the same lens, correcting the image for distortion effects to generate a corrected image, wherein the same correction factor is applied to both the particle and the calibration mark, and determining a size of the particle using the corrected image. The method may be useful for obtaining the target size of coffee grounds that will produce the desired flavor. Coffee grounds may be sprinkled on a surface with the calibration mark and imaged with the calibration mark such that the correction factor for the calibration mark can be used to determine the particle size range of the coffee grounds.
