摘要： A comfort guard apparatus and method of use comprises a compartmentalized chamber positioned adjacent to protective equipment such as shin guards, chest protectors, and helmets. In one embodiment, the apparatus is interchangeable and removably positioned between the user and the protective equipment. In another embodiment, the apparatus is built in to the protective equipment including clothing such as shirts and pants. The apparatus can be replaced with a freshly cooled or warmed version during use. The apparatus conforms to the body of the user, keep the chamber in contact with a greater surface area, and prevent the contents of the compartments from gravitating towards edges. Adjacent compartments can be separated by a breakable membrane or contain breakable packets. The apparatus cushions the user from abrupt edges of the protective equipment. The apparatus, positioned against the body of the wearer, regulates the wearer's body temperature which contributes to enhanced athletic performance.

摘要： In a preferred embodiment, a voltage converter comprises a voltage converter circuit, an output adjuster and a controller. The controller provides a control signal at a duty ratio determined dynamically by a set of input signals. The dynamic output adjuster determines the set of input signals by adjusting the ac component of an output voltage based on a gain Q. The dynamic output adjuster alleviates dependence on the value of Rc under leading edge modulation in either analog or digital converter systems. In addition to delivering the desired left half plane zero effects, dynamic output adjustment reduces the value of the output ripple. As a result, modern control methods such as input-output linearization can be used to design both boost and buck-boost PWM converters if only left half plane zero effects are present.

摘要： A motorized means of transporting loads includes a fork lift mechanism that features a set of anchored chains fitted to a set of lifting forks for lifting and lowering a load. With a combination electrical/hydraulic system, the lifting and lowering functions can be efficiently obtained. Two load supporting outriggers are provided which can be extended or retracted while transporting a load to aid in navigating constricted spaces. A tilting mast and fork assembly allows for a manipulation of the center of gravity while transporting loads. A joystick function controls the forward, turning, reverse, lifting, and extending and retracting the outriggers. A battery enabled transport provides for flash charging of the onboard batteries to extend useful life.

摘要： The invention provides a termination for a wire rope made by a process of inserting one end of a wire rope into a mold and placing a crucible with a crucible opening over the mold. The mold opening is in fluid communication with the crucible opening. Exothermic metallic material is added to the crucible. The exothermic metallic material is ignited forming a molten material. The molten material flows into the mold around the wire rope forming a termination capable of sustaining a higher break force than the wire rope. The invention also provides a termination for a wire rope made by a process with an adhesive. The termination provides a socket for connecting wire rope to various types of equipment. The socket can include one or more frustroconical wedges for securely holding the wire rope and the termination in the connector. The socket body can also include a protection sled and various ways to connect to the equipment.

摘要： The invention provides an apparatus and method for transparently transporting four pleisiosynchronous OC-48 signals (105, 110, 115, 120) over a network (100). Multiple plesiosynchronous data streams are aggregated onto an independent clock source at an ingress circuit (145) through the use of 'stuffing' bits. The independent clock is selected such that the output data rate is greater than the composite input data rate of all the plesiosynchronous data streams. The signal is encapsulated with forward error correction at the transport interface, serialized, and modulated across the transport system (125). An egress circuit (140) at the receiving end recovers the modulated signal and extracts the data stream and the timing extraction resulting in a return of the original data frames with the same timing as the originals. In this manner, the timing is reproduced identical to the timing of the incident signal at the ingress path, ensuring the data is identical in content and timing.
