Additionally, a method of monitoring macular degeneration includes providing a monocular screening device having a display screen disposed within a body of the screening device. 摘要： An injection molding machine is operatively connected to a model database that stores models of injection molding machines and molds. A tuning controller sets initial gain values of a variable-gain proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller. To set the initial gains, the tuning controller is configured to obtain, from the model database, a model for a first and second injection molding machines and a model for a mold. The tuning controller analyzes the models to determine a correlation between injection molding machine parameters and mold cycle performance for the mold. Accordingly, the tuning controller applies the correlation to determine an initial gain value for a least one of the first, second, and third gains of the PID controller. Then the tuning controller sets the initial gain values for the PID controller.

摘要： An assistive device for subcutaneous injections or implants. The assistive device is placed under a blood pressure cuff that displaces the skin and subcutaneous tissues of a patient at an insertion site in order to allow guided insertion of a needle or implant applicator into a subcutaneous fat layer. The skin and subcutaneous tissue is displaced or drawn, via pressure applied by the blood pressure cuff, through an injection window of a device body into a hollow cavity of the device body. A guide channel leads from a front side of the device body into the hollow cavity, and an applicator of an adapter is inserted through the guide channel into the subcutaneous fat layer.

摘要： A urinary incontinence device comprising a flexible but shape-retaining body portion is disclosed wherein the body portion has a longitudinal axis extending from an anterior end to a posterior end thereof. The body portion is elongated in the direction of the longitudinal axis and has a length and width sufficient to cover the vulva or retracted penis of a human female or male and to form a urine-receiving receptacle. The receptacle has a shallow urine directing portion sloping inwardly and downwardly away from the vulva or retracted penis, and a deeper, narrower central urine collection portion having a urine outlet. The receptacle is elongated in the direction of the longitudinal ax of the body portion. The device also includes an attachment flange having an anterior end and a posterior end corresponding to the anterior end and the posterior end of the body portion, respectively. The attachment flange is formed to extend outwardly away from the body portion, and it includes an adhesive thereon for securing the device to entirely cover the vulva or retracted penis of a human female or male.

摘要： A laparoscopic tissue sealant spray apparatus and system having a laparoscopic tissue sealant spray assembly combined with a trocar assembly, the tissue sealant spray assembly having an elongate delivery tube. A spray outlet at a distal end of the elongate delivery tube may be rounded or angled. A ring member provided at the distal end of the elongate delivery tube directs a spray cone toward a portion of a target tissue site, and the spray cone may be repositioned to a different portion of the target tissue site by rotation of the elongate delivery tube. The trocar assembly includes a vent opening that connects to a venting valve member that provides a vent path which passively opens upon operation of the tissue sealant spray assembly, avoiding excessive pressure build-up within a body cavity.
