    • Applicant has disclosed a method and apparatus to enhance feeding cartridges into the receiver of a bolt-action repeating rifle (108), from a detachable magazine (104). In the preferred embodiment. Applicant's invention strips the cartridges (134) from the magazines and feeds the cartridges into the chamber by a spring - activated hinged flap (110), pinned in a mating recess in a breech bolt head, adjacent a well opening and the inserted magazine. The flap is biased by a spring (120), which tends to lower the flap away from the breech bolt head, when the breech bolt is in a retracted position. As the breech bolt is pushed forward, the flap engages a rim of the next cartridge to be fed from the magazine and pushes the cartridge out of the magazine, over a feed ramp of the magazine, towards the rifle's chamber. The flap raises, against spring pressure, as it contacts a feed ramp of the receiver, allowing the breech bolt to enter the locking area of the receiver.

    • Applicant has disclosed a Method and Apparatus for stripping and feeding cartridges to enhance stripping cartridges out of a detachable double-stacked magazine, inserted into a (well opening of a) receiver of a bolt-action rifle, and to enhance feeding the cartridges into the firing chamber. In the preferred "apparatus" embodiment, Applicant's device comprises two protrusions ("bumps") integral with, and radially spaced around, a bottom of the breech bolt head. When the rifle's breech bolt is pushed through the receiver, towards the firing chamber, a flat front face of a protrusion engages the rim of the top cartridge, pushing the cartridge out of the magazine, over the feed ramp or lip, and towards a firing chamber of the rifle. The protrusions alternate as to which engages the next top cartridge(s), due to the staggered (zigzag) columns of the cartridges in a double-stacked magazine.

    • Applicants have disclosed a wireless method for remotely monitoring the physiological status of ambulatory patients by using at least one "cloud" server. Physiological data, including ECG data, is collected by a device worn by a patient and then wirelessly transmitted (e.g., via a cell phone) to the server(s). The same device can alert a patient as to trouble, whereas the server can do the same to clinicians. Remote processing of electrocardiograms ("ECG") is achieved, in part, by data streaming packet lengths acquired over no less than 3 seconds - 3 seconds is typically equivalent to about 3 cardiac cycles (heartbeats) - to provide the quickest response time by clinicians to try to save a heart patient's life. Other physiological data (e.g., blood pressure, respiration, oxygen saturation) are monitored by the device, so medical help can be obtained when needed. In this manner, any sudden onset of vicissitudes in a patient's well being may be detected using physiological information from a parallel combination of vital signs, and transmitted to the care-giver and patient in a near real-time fashion.

    • Applicant has disclosed a method to provide (via software) medical practitioners, medical directors, medical administrators and insurers continuously updated and digitally-generated statistical information, displayed as screen displays, related to the frequency of use and completeness of implementation of medical software. This auditing, in-turn, allows medical practitioners and other interested parties to ensure health care is provided in a complete, systematic, and effective manner that both maximizes provider revenue and minimizes insurance costs while resulting in healthier patients. In a preferred embodiment, this method comprises: continuously and automatically auditing the extent to which a medical practitioner utilizes or enters data in a digital Superbill, in the course of treating patients, by displaying digitally-generated, color-coded, audit results as screen displays to medical directors and medical practitioners, wherein different colors indicate different extents of Superbill usage.

    • A Controlled Unaided Surge and Purge Suppressor (1000) for firearms uses the blast and plume characteristics inherent to the ballistic discharge process to develop a new two-step controlled surge and purge system centered around advanced mixer-ejector concepts. The blast surge noise is reduced by- controlling the flow expansion, and the flash effects are reduced by controlling inflow and outflow gas purges. In the preferred embodiment, the blast surge is mitigated via a slotted mixer nozzle (1002); a first expansion chamber (1004); a generally "wagon-wheel" shaped blast baffle (1006) with a vent hole; a series of alternating baffles (1012A-F), with vent holes, strategically located along the suppressor's inner wall surface; a second expansion chamber (1014); and an exit opening (1016). This preferred embodiment contains no "outside" vent holes (i.e. throughbores) which extend through the suppressor's outer or longitudinal wall (1001). Instead of ingesting ambient air through such throughbores and mixing the air with the muzzle gases, the preferred embodiment ingests and mixes chamber gases and contaminants with the muzzle gases while allowing fluid flow through and out the suppressor (1000). It too though can control or eliminate the Mach disk.

    • Applicant has disclosed a software tool which allows quick access by medical providers (e.g., in a hospital emergency room) to patient records stored on web-based medical software. In a preferred embodiment, the software tool allows integration with a third-party Electronic Medical Record ("EMR") software, e.g., used by a medical provider, by capturing screen data from the third-party software, querying a database of the web-based medical software as to whether or not the database contains an active medical record number associated with the patient, and notifying the medical provider of the patient's medical record number status within the web-based medical software. • Applicants have disclosed a process for fusing a biocompatible glass to a metal substrate. In the preferred embodiment, the process comprises: grit blasting a metallic substrate (e.g., titanium) to remove a surface layer of the metal; after blasting, cleaning the abrasion residue off the surface layer; blending a solvent to use as a suspension agent; creating a suspension of glass-coating powders in the solvent solution; depositing the suspension onto the metallic substrate; drying thoroughly the suspension-coated metallic substrate; inserting the dried, coated substrate into a non-reactive chamber, purging the chamber with an inert gas, such as pure argon; and firing the metallic substrate, inside the furnace, in the inert gas. This process forms a robust fusion between the biocompatible glass/ceramic and titanium, according to preliminary test results. This process can be used for various medical and dental devices, including implants and onplants.
