    • A field-attachable contact assembly includes a contact having a seat portion which includes a wire-receiving aperture having a generally circular portion for receiving an insulated wire and a narrowing V-shaped portion for establishing an insulation displacement connection with the wire. A pusher includes a slot for receiving the seat of the contact, and an aperture which, when aligned with the circular portion of the contact opening, receives the wire. The pusher is then pushed on to the contact to establish an IDC electrical connection between the contact and the wire.

    • An agricultural implement with ground-engaging implements tracks in a direction down slope when pulled by a traction vehicle over uneven, or sloped, terrain. The implement's path from the track of the vehicle depends upon, among other things, the slope of the terrain. To compensate for this tendency to drift down slope away from the pulling vehicle's track, the implement frame is provide with controllable forward and aft pivoting wing sections to which the ground engaging implements are attached. Using a GPS receiver, precise positioning information is used to position the wing sections so that the ground engaging members are directed up slope to move the implement's track upwardly in correcting its track, with the wing sections then automatically re -positioned when the implements are on the proper track.

    • A tracking device for automatically following a moving light source that is detectable in the presence of ambient light. A carrier platform including one or more radiant energy conversion devices and a sensor array is mounted to an upright support column with a universal joint. Three linear actuators, each having an associated light sensor, are equally angularly spaced about the support column with an upper end connected to the carrier platform with a universal hinge and a lower end connected to a floating base with a spherical hinge. The floating base is free to move axially but not radially of the support column. The actuator of a light sensor receiving a lesser amount of radiant energy retracts, and extends when receiving a greater amount of radiant energy. Each light sensor is moved in a stepwise manner, with a predetermined, limited number of steps used to define light source acquisition for tracking purposes.

    • In an air pressurized system for use in delivering seeds in an agricultural planter from a main hopper to plural remote bins each associated with a respective seed discharge unit, an air/seed mixture is provided to a seed discharge unit via an air pressure dissipator which vents the air to the atmosphere in controlling the rate at which seed is delivered to the seed discharge unit. The air pressure dissipator includes an upper, angled tube having an outwardly tapered lower end adapted to receive an upper end of a perforated screen tube which extends into the seed discharge unit. As the seed discharge unit fills with seed during operation, the air pressure dissipator regulates the air flow entraining and transporting the seed by directing a portion of the air to the atmosphere when necessary to provide seed to the seed discharge unit to substantially match the seed discharge rate.

    • A three-way valve includes a rotatable shaft positioned within a cylindrical, linear bore within a housing. A fluid pressure source is coupled via an input port to an inner end of the bore which includes a valve chamber. An output port coupled to a pressure-operated device is also disposed in the housing and is connected to the valve chamber, as is a drain port. Attached to the shaft's inner end is a first seal, while a second seal is attached to the shaft in closely spaced relation to the first seal. Rotational displacement of the shaft clockwise causes the first seal to seal off the source of fluid pressure from the valve chamber, while allowing for fluid discharge through the drain port. Rotational displacement of the shaft in a second, opposed direction connects the pressure-operated device to the pressure source via valve chamber and isolates valve chamber from drain port.
