摘要： A decoupled plating system is provided for producing lithium. In a general embodiment, the present disclosure provides a feed tank configured to supply a lithium-rich aqueous electrolyte stream, a plating tank that is configured to receive an organic electrolyte and plate out lithium metal from that organic electrolyte, and one or more lithium replenishment cells configured to receive both electrolytes, keep them separated, and selectively move lithium ions from the aqueous electrolyte into the spent organic electrolyte stream. The present system and process can advantageously reduce operating costs and/or improve energy efficiency in production of lithium metal and associated products.

摘要： Nutritional compositions having high amounts of protein and low ratios of omega-6:omega-3 fatty acids, and methods of making and using the nutritional compositions are provided. The nutritional compositions include an increased amount of protein, and a low ratio of omega-6:omega-3 fatty acids to provide a patient with adequate amounts of protein for the preservation of lean body mass, while reducing inflammation associated with administration of pro-inflammatory drug formulations such as propofol. The nutritional compositions also help to avoid potential complications associated with overfeeding of an enterally-fed patient being treated, or having been treated, with high fat medications such as propofol. Methods of making and using such nutritional compositions are also provided.

In an embodiment, the present disclosure provides a method comprising administering to a patient during peritoneal dialysis therapy a dialysis solution comprising a therapeutically effective amount of pyrophosphate ranging between about 30 µM and about 400 µM. Formulations of dialysis solutions according to the dose ranges claimed in the present disclosure allow therapeutic amounts of pyrophosphate to be delivered to peritoneal dialysis patients.

The surfaces may also be one or more of those associated with a infusion of a medicament or dialysis treatment, such as peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis, where it is important that the working surface for the dialysis fluid be sterile. These surfaces include connectors for peritoneal dialysis sets or for hemodialysis sets, bag spikes, dialysis catheters, and so forth. A method for determining whether a surface has been sterilized, and a dye useful in so indicating, is also disclosed.
