    • A shoulder strap pad assembly is provided that includes: a top cover, a bottom cover, and a cushion filler. The bottom cover is laminated to the top cover to form an enclosure in which the cushion filler is secured. The top cover has a top fabric layer, a first adhesive web layer positioned below the top fabric layer and a first base layer positioned below the first adhesive layer on a side opposite that of the top fabric layer. The bottom cover has a second base layer, a second adhesive web layer positioned above the second base layer. The cushion filler has a cushion layer, a third adhesive web layer positioned above the cushion layer, a fourth adhesive web layer positioned below the cushion layer, and a third base layer positioned below the fourth adhesive web layer. In a preferred embodiment, the pad assembly is attached to a piece of fabric to form a channel in which a brassiere shoulder strap is positioned. In a alternative embodiment, the pad assembly is integrally formed with the brassiere shoulder strap.

    • A reusable yarn tube (10) includes a hollow tube (11) having a substantially cylindrical wall (12) and an outer surface (14) adapted to carry a yarn (20) on the tube surface. The tube (10) includes a starting groove (16) in the outer surface (14) near one end of the tube (10) and an opposite, yarn-unwinding end (18). A pre-formed sleeve (30) having a smooth surface (31) is form-fitted about a portion of the outer surface (14) of the tube (10) and an end 17, 18) of the tube. In this manner, the sleeve (30) provides a smooth surface (31) for the yarn (20) to be wound onto and unwound from the tube (10). Preferably, the sleeve (30) is formed about the yarn-unwinding end (18) of the tube and across the thickness (13) of the cylindrical wall (12) without contacting the inside surface (19) of the tube (10). Such a reusable yarn tube (10) is useful for preventing yarn snags on defects in and about the ends of the tube (10).

    • An apparatus and a method for molding a lofted material and preserving the inherent loft characteristics associated with such a material are provided. The apparatus has a first mold and a second mold that cooperate to provide a three-dimensional aspect to the lofted material. The first mold has a surface with a projecting element and a first level portion while the second mold has a surface with a recessed element and a second level portion. The projecting element is formed to fit in the recessed element when the first and second molds are brought into relatively close relation. A uniform preset gap is maintained between the projecting element and the recessed element when the first mold is closed relative to said second mold, or vice-versa, such that the inherent loft characteristics associated with the lofted material are substantially preserved during a molding operation.
