摘要： A fuel dispenser comprises fuel flow piping defining a flow path from a source of fuel toward a fueling nozzle. A plurality of fuel handling components are disposed along the fuel flow piping. Control electronics are in operative communication with the fluid handling components. The fuel dispenser includes network circuitry operative to create a wireless peer to peer network with an adjacent vehicle. After creation of such network, the control electronics receive transaction information from the vehicle in electronic form via the network circuitry, and cause at least one function of the fuel dispenser to be controlled for a transaction based on the transaction information.

One method includes flowing the fuel gas along a fluid conduit in fluid communication with the storage vessel and actuating a valve disposed along the fluid conduit to provide a predetermined difference between the pressure of the fuel gas upstream of the valve and the pressure of the fuel gas downstream of the control valve. The predetermined difference is selected such that the temperature of the fuel gas is reduced to a predetermined temperature after passing through the valve. The method further includes dispensing the fuel gas into the storage vessel at a first mass flow rate.

This can be implemented in a fuel dispensing environment where the fuel dispenser can include a diode coupler communicatively coupled to the legacy cabling for receiving powered communications from one or more backroom components over the legacy cabling during a power outage, and a broadband communications modem for communicating with the one or more backroom components, wherein the diode coupler provides power from the powered communications to the broadband communications modem. Relays can be used at the fuel dispenser and/or backroom components to determine whether to use the powered communications or legacy communications based on whether power is available at the components communicating over the legacy cabling. In addition, failsafe protection of legacy communication circuits is provided when powered communications are active.

The remote transaction system comprises a compact assembly, a control system, and communications electronics. The compact assembly is adapted to be attached to a surface, such as a bezel, and comprises at least one antenna. Also, the compact assembly may comprise antennas operating at different frequencies and at least one audio or visual element. Further, antenna arrays may be formed comprising a second antenna arrangement separate from the compact assembly and coupled to the surface. The compact assembly and/or a second antenna arrangement may comprise a tuning element, such as a tuning ring. The communications electronics are adapted to wirelessly communicate with at least one remote communications device and provide wireless communications to the control system for processing. A method for attaching the compact assembly to a surface is also provided.

摘要： A system used in a retail environment, such as a fuel dispensing environment, for providing secure communication of payment information to a host computer. The system includes at least one keypad device configured to receive and encrypt personal information according to a first encryption scheme to produce encrypted personal data. The keypad device is further operative to generate a local zone emulated message in a message format of a second encryption scheme, the local zone emulated message containing the encrypted personal data. A site controller is in communication with the keypad device to receive the local zone emulated message. The site controller is configured to provide a message in the second encryption scheme to a security module for decryption and re-encryption in the first encryption scheme. An emulator is associated with the site controller to emulate the security module. In this regard, the emulator is operative to receive the local zone emulated message and return the encrypted personal data without decryption. The site controller provides the encrypted personal data to the host computer according to the first encryption scheme.
