    • A method and system for continuous automated growing of plants utilizes production lines each comprising a number of growth sections, each growth section comprising multiple horizontal transport levels, each level of each section having a source of light and liquid nutrient, and plant growing trays which move horizontally into, along and out of each transport level; whereby each subsequent growth section has a greater length than the previous section to receive a greater number of growing trays than the previous section so that as plants grow, the number of plants per growing tray is decreased but the number of plants per growth section remains constant. A group of plants is thereby broken out into an ever greater number of trays as it proceeds through the growing sections from germination to harvest, with the ability to simultaneously start the growth cycle for additional crops.

    • This invention relates to a bioreactor, more particularly to a tubular photo bioreactor (TPB), which is capable of stimulating plant growth, especially micro algal growth. The tubular photo bioreactor includes a reservoir for holding a liquid containing plant material, wherein the reservoir is devoid from light, a pump in fluid communication with the reservoir and a length of transparent tube extending from the pump to the reservoir through which the liquid can be circulated. The tubular photo bioreactor further includes a frame adapted to support the tube extending between the pump and the reservoir in a coiled formation about the frame in an illuminated environment illuminated by natural light and/or artificial light. In this manner, the liquid is capable of being circulated by the pump between a dark phase, wherein the liquid passes through the dark reservoir, and a light phase, wherein the liquid is exposed to light as it passes through the tube in the illuminated environment, such that the growth of the plant material in the liquid is stimulated by the dark and light phase cycle.

    • A retractable high-reflectivity wall provides improved lighting conditions for growing plants. The wall is retractable, so that it does not get in the way when the user wishes to work in the grow area. The wall can also be retracted so that it is easier to move, carry, reposition, resize, and / or remove as needed. The wall may be implemented as a sheet including a reflective surface adhered or otherwise mounted onto a flexible backing such as a vinyl surface for additional support / reinforcement. The resulting flexible reflective wall is mounted onto a roller assembly which allows the wall to be extended or retracted. A support bar can be affixed to the roller assembly via brackets or other hardware. The entire apparatus can be suspended from or affixed to a ceiling, wall, fixture, or other object, or it can be supported by a stand or other assembly.
