    • A cold pack (10, 20, 30) that includes an enclosure (11, 21, 31) having a powdered solute (12, 22, 32) and a liquid (14, 24, 34) sealed inside the enclosure. The powdered solute and the liquid are segregated within the enclosure by a membrane (16, 26, 36). Rupturing the membrane mixes the liquid with the powdered solute to produce an endothermic solution within the enclosure. Substantially all of the powdered solute rapidly dissolves within the liquid such that the cold pack quickly reaches its cooling temperature. In another aspect, the cold pack includes an absorbent core (27, 37) within the enclosure. The absorbent core retains the endothermic solution such that the absorbent core spreads the endothermic solution throughout the enclosure. Spreading the endothermic solution (28, 38) throughout the enclosure produces a uniform cooling temperature throughout the cold pack.

    • The present invention relates to a thermal heat pack (104) for heating the female breast during post partum nursing and, more particularly, to a thermal heat pack (104) which readily conforms to the contours of different sized female breasts to provide therapeutic heat to an adjacent breast to reduce swelling and irritation. The present invention overcomes the disavandtages of the prior art by providing a bendable thermal heat unit which assumes a cup or cone shape upon application to the breast. The present invention adjusts and conforms to various sizes of the female breasts to which it is to be applied. The present invention provides a layered conformable member with a shape substantially like a disk having selected indentations (101) to permit formation of various sized rounded conical cups.
