摘要： An apparatus includes a processor a channel state information (CSI) module operative on the processor to evaluate channel state information for a multiplicity of transmission points and to allocate a selection of channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS) to an uplink sub-frame allotted for transmitting channel quality/precoding matrix index/rank indicator (CQI/PMI/RI) information to a transmission point. The apparatus may further include a wireless transceiver operative to transmit the selection of CSI-RS in the uplink sub-frame to the transmission point in a wireless network, and receive information from the transmission point in response to the CSI-RS and a digital display operative to present the information received from the transmission point.

The apparatus may further include a rank adaptation (RA) module operable on the processor to direct the transmitter to send a multiplicity of sub-band channel quality indicator (CQI) reports, each sub-band CQI report comprising a measurement of a respective sub-band of the transmission band and a multiplicity of rank indicator (RI) reports, where each sub-band CQI report is accompanied by an RI report. 摘要： A method for localized congestion exposure within a local loop in a cellular network that is performed by a localized congestion exposure receiver node of the local loop. The method includes receiving downlink packets destined for a downstream user device. The downlink packets have headers that indicate a level of congestion experienced by the downlink packets. The headers also indicate a level of expected downstream congestion declared by an upstream node. The method also includes forwarding the downlink packets to the downstream user device through a wireless connection. The method further includes sending packets upstream that have feedback indicative of the level of congestion experienced by the downlink packets and any congestion experienced within the localized congestion exposure receiver node.

Thus, resilient wireless packet communications is provided using a physical layer link aggregation protocol with a hardware-assisted rapid channel failure detection algorithm and load balancing, preferably in combination. This functionality may be implemented in a Gigabit Ethernet data access card with an engine configured accordingly. In networks with various topologies, these features may be provided in combination with their existing protocols.
