    • Embodiments of the invention relates to a method in a controller node for distributing code text of a joint spatial coding in a communications network. The communications network comprises at least two communication nodes each comprising at least one transmit antenna. The method comprises to joint spatial code (12, S11) a symbol resulting in at least a first code text and a second code text. Then, the method comprises to group (T4, S12) the transmit antennas in the communications network into at least a first transmit antenna group and a second transmit antenna group based on the location of coverage area of the transmit antennas. Finally, the method comprises to distribute (T6) the first code text to the first transmit antenna group and the second code text to the second transmit antenna group. The invention is particularly useful for transmission in Multimedia Broadcast Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) comprising of communication nodes equipped with unequal number of transmit antennas. Embodiments also relates to a controller node, a second communication node, a user equipment and methods therein.

    • The present invention relates to cellular system and especially to handover between cells on different frequency carriers in an OFDM system or between cells in 2 systems adopting different radio access technologies (RAT), at least one of them being OFDM technology. A problem is the intra-cell interference impact on the quality a connected mode terminal measures in the own cell and in neighbour cells. This is a problem for cells based on OFDM technology, because intra-cell interference has no impact as compared to the inter-cell interference on the quality provided by the cell to a connected mode terminal, whereas in UTRA the intra-cell and inter-cell interference have the same impact on the quality provided. The solution to the problem is based on the insight that for cells that are located on the same site, the eNode B has possess information on the power transmitted on the respective frequency carrier, and can adjust the quality as reported from the terminal on co-located OFDM cells. The adjusted quality measure enables an improved evaluation of the quality of co-located cells, for a potential handover. The invention also relates to embodiments on a 2-step handover, wherein handover to inter-frequency, or an inter- RAT cell on another site is made as a handover to co-located inter-frequency/inter-RAT cell and a handover to a intra-frequency cell located at the other site.

    • According to a first aspect of embodiments herein, the object is achieved by a method in a network node for assisting a first user equipment in interference mitigation. The network node is comprised in a cellular communications network. The cellular communications network further comprises the first user equipment and a second user equipment. The second user equipment causes interference to the first user equipment when at least one of the first user equipment and second user equipment communicate by using Device-to-Device, D2D communication. The network node obtains (202) information about the receiver of the first user equipment. The network node then determines (203) one or more parameters required by the first user equipment for mitigating the interference. The parameters relate to the obtained information and to the interfering second user equipment. The network node then sends (204) the one or more parameters to the first user equipment thereby assisting the first user equipment to mitigate interference caused by the second user equipment.
