    • A method is provided for allocation of cellular channel resources and/or shared ISM band resources to device-to-device (D2D) user equipment (UE) pairs/clusters in mobile communications. A network entity makes assignments of cellular channel physical resource blocks to D2D UE based on interference measurements performed either by the network entity or reported to it by UE. Semi-persistent channel allocations are transmitted periodically to the UE on a downlink control channel. Channel specific allocations are transmitted to and received by D2D UE in each transmission time interval. Where the cellular band has insufficient resources to allocate to D2D UE, the network entity may determine portions of the shared ISM band that may be assignable to D2D UE and transmit channel allocations in the ISM band to the UE. An indicator bit may be added to the allocation transmissions to indicate whether there has been a change to the allocations since the previous transmission.

    • Sensory data is received wirelessly in a surveillance node of a second transmission line in a transmission node, the sensory data broadcast from a preceding surveillance node of a first transmission line in a preceding transmission node, and the sensory data intended for a subsequent surveillance node of the first transmission line in a subsequent transmission node. The subsequent surveillance node of the first transmission line is monitored to determine whether the subsequent surveillance node of the first transmission line forwards the received sensory data. In response to the subsequent surveillance node of the first transmission line failing to forward the received surveillance sensory data within a predetermined time period, the received sensory data is broadcast to a subsequent surveillance node of the second transmission line in another subsequent transmission node.

    • Embodiments include methods for cooperative, de-centralized data collection among electronic devices, and devices and systems embodying such methods. When a device determines the occurrence of an event, it generates a unique event ID (EID), used to associate all data related to the event. The device broadcasts a request message, comprising the EID and optionally an event description event and requested action(s), to proximate devices. The requested actions may comprise instructions for monitoring the event and reporting information to a central repository. When a device receives the request message, it responds according to the requested actions and any other information in the message. The initiating and receiving devices may send event report messages, comprising the EID and captured information, to the repository, which may further process the information received from the devices, using the EID to aggregate all information relevant to the event.
