    • An advancement mechanism that allows hands-free operation of a dispenser to dispense web material from a roll contained in the material dispenser. The advancement mechanism includes a pedal that is connected to the dispenser by an elongated rod. User interaction with the pedal effectuates translation of the rod which in turn effectuates operation of a feed mechanism contained in a housing of the dispenser. Operation of the feed mechanism advances the roll of web material such that a portion of the sheet material is dispensed beyond the confines of the housing. The advancement mechanism allows mechanically powered hands-free operation of the dispenser.
