    • The disclosed implementations include displays of accented or related characters for characters selected by a user through a virtual keyboard operating in a multi-language environment. In one aspect, when a user clicks and holds down a key, a popup displays accented characters for the character associated with the key. In another aspect, the order of accented characters can be based a frequency of occurrence of the accented character in the current language being typed by the user. In another aspect, when a character is at edge of a display, the popup is visually displayed in a different location and the ordering of the accents in the display are set with the more frequently occurring accents being more quickly accessible. In another aspect, auto correction is used to correct accented equivalents for compounds. In another aspect, a different visual keyboard layout is provided for different languages.

    • In response to a conversion action associated with an online advertisement ("ad"), an advertiser associated with the ad generates a unique identifier (e.g., a pseudo random number), which is transmitted to a payment system through a user device. In some implementations, the unique identifier can be generated by a payment system in response to a request from an advertiser. The advertiser stores the unique identifier in a secure location that is accessible by the payment system. The payment system compares the received unique identifier with the stored unique identifier. If the received unique identifier matches the stored unique identifier, and if the received unique identifier was not previously generated by the advertiser, then the payment system deems the conversion action to be valid.

    • An improved surveillance system which includes a plurality of single lens cameras each of which have a relatively wide angle lens. These single lens cameras simultaneously capture images (505) that can be seamed into a panorama (507). The system also includes a high resolution camera that can be pointed in a selected direction that is within the field of view of the cameras. The image (503) from the high resolution camera is either superimposed (511) on top of the panoramic image or it is displayed on a separate monitor (611). If it is displayed in the panorama, the higher solution image is positioned (609) at the point in the panorama which is displaying the same area in space at a lower resolution. Thus an operator sees a relatively low resolution panorama; however, a selected portion of the panorama is displayed at a high resolution.
