    • A stored energy coupling and pipe bursting apparatus which is designed to increase the efficiency of pipe bursting by enhancing the effect of a pneumatic or hydraulic hammer used while moving the pipe bursting head (43). In one embodiment the stored energy coupling (20, 30, 31) has one or more internal springs (68, 68a, 68b) and operates to improve the energy output of a hammer (86) as the pipe bursting head (43) traverses the length of the pipe (83) to be broken responsive to the pulling action of a single hydraulic cylinder (78) having dual rod or cable gripping elements (5, 32). In another embodiment the stored energy coupling (1) has no spring and is designed to prevent damage to the static pulling device when the hammer (85) is implemented. The stored energy coupling (1, 20, 30, 31) of this invention can be installed in front or behind the bursting head (43), or even in the bursting head (43), and is always positioned in front of the hammer (86). The stored energy coupling (20, 31) can also be utilized in a common housing (66, 2) with the hammer (86) and with a cable or rod pulling apparatus of any design, including a hydraulic cylinder (78) which uses a rod or cable connection and dual gripping elements (5, 32) for immobilizing the rod (64) or cable (40) between pulling sequences.

    • A fuel fill system includes a funnel (18, 70) having an inlet port (20) configured to receive a nozzle (22) from an external fuel source, a fuel filler tube (16) coupled to an outlet port (24) of the funnel (18, 70), and a vapor recirculation tube (30) coupled to the funnel. Fuel vapor entering the funnel (18, 70) from the vapor recirculation tube (30) is directed toward the outlet port (24) at a first angle less than 90° from a longitudinal axis (34) of the funnel (18, 70). The fuel vapor entering the funnel (18, 70) may also be directed at a second angle less than 90° from a line (50) tangent to an inner surface of the funnel (18, 70) at a point where fuel vapor enters the funnel.     • An endless positive drive power transmission belt is described for use with a cooperating pulley member, wherein the endless positive drive transmission belt (10, 20) comprises an elastomeric body portion (12, 32), a plurality of longitudinally extending spaced apart tensile members (26, 46), and a layer of wear-resistant fabric material (22, 42) positioned on the cooperating pulley member engaging surface of said belt, wherein a layer of a high ethylene­-containing elastomer composition (24, 44) is bonded to a surface of the layer of wear-resistant fabric material (22, 42) in such a manner that the surface layer of the high ethylene-containing elastomer is disposed between the layer of wear-resistant fabric material and the cooperating pulley member. The high ethylene-containing elastomer composition (24, 44) exhibits superior dimensional stability characteristics when compared to the wear-resistant fabric material (22, 42) either alone or coated with other conventional coatings. A method for coating a wear­ resistant fabric material (22, 42) with a high ethylene-containing elastomer (24, 44) is also described.

    • A belt tensioner (14) for a power transmission belt (12) is provided that operates on an endless path and that utilizes asymmetrical motion control. The belt tensioner (14) has an arm (18) with a belt engaging section (22) and a drum section (26), a support member (16) for securing the tensioner (14) relative to the belt (12), whereby the arm (18) pivots about the support member (16), and a tension spring (20) that urges the arm (18) to pivot about the support member (16) in a first direction and urges the belt engaging section (22) against the belt (12) with a force to tension the belt. The tensiometer (14) also has a stator (28) inside the drum section (26) utilized to form arcuate spaces (35) circumferentially spaced around the stator (28) between the stator and the drum section (26) and arcuate shaped wedges (32) in the arcuate spaces (35).
