    • A system for monitoring a user includes a transmitter positioned in a first location, a sensor system, first and second monitoring devices, a controller and an application. The sensor system collects user sound, image, and vital data, ambient condition data, and transmits the data wirelessly to the transmitter. The first and second monitoring devices communicate wirelessly with the transmitter and are worn by first and second caregivers of the user, respectively, that are located in a second location. The controller is located in the second location and communicates wirelessly with the first and second monitoring devices and the transmitter. The transmitter transmits wirelessly the collected data to the first and second monitoring devices and to the controller. The analyzer analyzes the collected data and determines whether any has a value above a predetermined threshold or out of a predetermined range and sends an alarm notification to at least one of the first and second monitoring devices in cases when at least one of the collected data exceeds a threshold.

    • There is provided a method of detection and monitoring of at least one position based activity by a subject, comprising: providing a wearable monitoring device including at least one position tag for tracking location of the subject in a space; collecting body movement and location data of the subject within the space based on the tracked location of the position tag; providing at least one activity sensor configured to sense at least one body movement of the subject within the space; collecting body movement data based on the activity sensor; correlating the body movement data with the location data; contextually analyzing the correlation to identify at least one abnormal event or at least one normal event based on subject body movement and location where the body movement is performed; and generating an alert indicative of the abnormal event or the normal event.

    • Embodiments of the present application relate generally to electronic hardware, computer software, wireless communications, network communications, wearable, hand held, and portable computing devices for facilitating communication of information. A wearable personal emergency event transponder includes a processor, data storage, a sensor system, and a communications interface. The transponder processes signals from the sensor system using algorithms included in the data storage and determines if an event related to a medical emergency has occurred to a user wearing the transponder. Upon detecting one or more events, the transponder may selectively communicate one or more datum from the data storage including user specific emergency medical data, user contact data, system data, or some combination of those data. The communication may be by a radio configured to transmit the datum at a low RF power sufficient for near field communication with an external device and/or by a hardwired communications link (e.g., USB).
