摘要： This invention relates to a multifunctional structure for mitigating the effects of explosions and impeding the penetration of projectiles that is also highly effective at supporting structural (i.e. static) loads. By wrapping a tile in multiple layers of high-performance fabric, upon impact by a projectile additional tensile forces are created, aiding in the deceleration of the projectile. With added layers the tensile forces aiding projectile deceleration increase, resulting in a ballistic panel for use in multifunctional structural/ armor systems having a lighter weight and greater stopping power than conventional armor systems in addition to functioning as part of a structure for supporting static loads.

摘要： In various embodiments, a waterproof breathable (WPB) fabric and method of producing the same are provided wherein a WPB membrane is laminated to a first side of a fabric, the laminated fabric is then treated with a treatment agent, and the treated fabric is cured. The treatment agent may include at least one of an oleophobic (oil repellent) compound and/or a hydrophobic (water repellent) compound. In some embodiments, the hydrophobic compound may be a durable water repellent (DWR) treatment. The treatment agent may provide protection for the fabric by repelling oil-based and/or water-based substances.

摘要： An improved polyethylene fabric comprises polyethylene fabric or yarn that is manufactured by mixing HDPE (typically in pellet form) with pellets of cyclic-olefm polymers (COCs) in a ratio of up to 40% by weight of the layer. This mixture is then extruded in ways known to those skilled in the art. The resulting HDPE has superior stress and strain characteristics over a wider range of pressures and temperatures than conventional HDPE. The improved polyethylene fabric of the present invention is useful in applications where structural integrity is required and where pressure and temperature are a factor. For example, improved HDPE scrims of the present invention can be used as the reinforcing structure for irrigation hose or building fabric.

摘要： A stuffed textile article (20) and method of manufacturing the same has at least one compartment (22) arranged in aseries of rows (24) aligned side-by-side , having a baffle gate (33) which receives a tube-like stuffing tool through which loose stuffing (40) is blown into the compartment. Upon removal of the tool, the surrounding layers and panels which define the compartment are placed under tension by the stuffing causing the baffle gates to automatically close upon removal of the tool permanently preventing migration of the stuffing out of the compartment. The gate has a primary panel (34) secured to the top layer (26) and bottom layer (28) of the article and an adjacent secondary panel at least partially covering the primary panel. The primary panel has a slit and the secondary panel has a slot. Taken individually, the slit and slot are each preferably longer than the thickness of the stuffed textile article and longer than half the circumference of the stuffing tool. This enables use of the stuffing tool on stuffed textile articles having a thickness which is generally less than half the circumference of the tool. The slit and slot cross one-another preferably at about their mid-points. For easy insertion, the tool is chamfered having a blunt extremity which makes first contact with the panels at about the cross-over point to minimize snagging of the tool.
