摘要： Described is a continuous loop filter media and a method of filtering particulate, such as metal, from a liquid media comprising supplying a filter media (12) of a type supported in a flow passage which is used to filter particulate (56) from the liquid; wherein the filter media is comprised of at least two fabrics, a first top fabric (62) comprised of non-woven synthetic fibers (80) and a second bottom fabric (60) comprised of yarn pre-designed into a shaped porous support layer, such as, woven fibers (84, 86, 88), the first and second fabrics lying substantially on top of each other and bound together (62, 64, 66, 74) to form a continuous loop filter media; passing the continuous loop filter media into a first stage comprised of liquid and waste particulate and filtering at least a portion of the particulate therefrom onto the continuous loop filter media; passing the continuous loop filter media with the filtered particulate thereon to a removal stage (52) wherein at least a portion of the filtered particulate is separated from the continuous loop filter media; and passing the continuous loop filter media back to the first stage.

摘要： A sludge concentrating device comprising a sludge tank storing sludge, a filtering means having an endless belt filter cloth revolving around upper and lower rollers with at least the lowermost roller immersed in the sludge, a filter cloth washing means, a filtrate chamber having a filtrate inlet close to the filter cloth and a weir, a sludge distributing tank serving as a means for introducing sludge into the sludge tank and disposed in the vicinity of the upper end of the filtrate inlet, and a concentrated sludge discharge tank serving as means for discharging concentrated sludge from the sludge tank and disposed in a position substantially opposed to the sludge introducing means with the filter cloth interposed therebetween, wherein the device further comprises a flocculant adding means for adding a flocculant to the sludge fed to the sludge tank, an acid adding means for adding an acid, and a rectifier serving as a uniform sludge feeding means for feeding sludge into the sludge tank uniformly widthwise of the filter cloth. Thus, the sludge produced in a sewage disposal plant can be concentrated in large quantities and efficiently without depending on its properties.

摘要： A rotating drum pressure differential filter is provided whereby a layer of filter medium is continuously refreshed by a spray applicator device after the layer is utilized to filter components from a sample medium and a portion of the layer is subsequently scraped to remove sample medium waste from the layer. Methods of filtration using the device are also provided as are systems employing two or more such filters. A spray applicator device useful for refreshing a layer of filter medium on the outer surface of a rotating drum pressure differential filter is also provided as is a retro fit kit useful in modifying existing rotating drum pressure differential filters to enable the continuous formation of a refreshed filter medium layer. The continuously refreshed filter and filter systems provide a minimized down time of the filter and system operations. Multiple-stage filtration processes are also provided and are particularly useful in the recovery of enzymes from fermentation broths.

摘要： A method and a plant serving the purpose of purifying water with ozone from especially oxidizable impurities. The plant comprises a purification basin (3) for the contaminated water, an ozone source (1) for, when in operation, supplying the plant with ozone for purification of the water, a reaction container (2), which, when in operation, partly is supplied with water from a water source to a predetermined level in the container by means of a first pressure pump (8), partly is supplied with ozone under pressure from the ozone source via a gas conduit with a second pressure pump (7), which preferably is a spark-free membrane pump. At the bottom of the basin is placed a first set of nozzles (12) which via at least one first water conduit (10) is connected to the water in the reaction container. A second set of nozzles (17) which, at the bottom are placed in the basin at a distance from the first set of nozzles, are connected to at least one second water conduit (18) which is connected to the ozone source as well as to a water source and has a third pressure pump (19) for, when in operation, driving the water through the conduit with a pressure which is smaller than the pressure in the reaction container. The plant can with less use of ozone efficiently purify the water from impurities. The additional ozone is recycled in an economic expedient way instead of being released into the environment and endangering the surroundings. Suspended and dissolved impurities in the waste water can be brought to flocculate without addition of chemicals.

摘要： The invention consists of forming an aqueous slurry of water and particles of ore carrying both metals and/or minerals which are passed at relatively high speed along an electrically isolated path in contact with electrically insulating materials and in the presence of air. This generates a positive electrostatic charge in the water droplets and enclosed particles and a negative charge in the electrically insulating materials through which they are being driven. The water droplets and hence the particles become differentially charged so that when they pass over an oppositely charged negative field, they are driven into the lower oppositely charged field body by the strong force of electrical attraction and the relatively weaker force of gravity. Should the negative collector contain an amalgamating material such as mercury and the ore, as an example contain gold, electrons are exchanged providing instant amalgamation of the surface of the gold. The electrostatic charge is maintained throughout the process until precipitation of the particles is completed.
