The video encoding/decoding apparatus according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a video encoder which segments a predicted reference video using optimum filters for each block into blocks by a layer of at least one stage, sets a segmentation flag for determining whether or not the segmented blocks are capable of being segmented again and a filter type for determining which filters are used for interpolating the blocks, and encodes the segmentation flag and the filter type into a quadtree; and a video decoder which reads the segmentation flag and the filter type from the bit stream encoded into the quadtree to restore the segmentation flag and the filter type, generates segmented blocks on the basis of the segmentation flag, and interpolates the generated blocks on the basis of the filter type to restore the reference video for optimum motion compensation.

According to one embodiment of the present invention, provided are an apparatus and a method for predicting a color space, and a method and an apparatus for encoding/decoding an image using same, comprising: a predictive weighted value calculation unit which determines a weighted block from a decoded peripheral block of the current block, and calculates a predictive weighted value for each frequency domain from the weighted block; a predictive frequency selection unit which calculates predictive gains for each frequency domain from the predictive weighted value for each frequency domain, and selects a frequency domain to be used in predicting a color space, using the predictive gains for each frequency domain; and a frequency domain restoring unit which restores a converted residual block from a color space prediction block.

One embodiment of the present invention provides the method and the device for encoding/decoding the image using the extended skip mode comprising the following steps: setting a motion vector of a back reference block of peripheral blocks around the current block as the predictive motion vector of the current block, or setting the predictive motion vector from a motion vector of the front reference block of the block in a back reference picture, which is at the same location as the current block; motion-compensating using the predictive motion vector; and setting a prediction mode when the result of the motion-compensation satisfies the optimal skip condition.
