摘要： Systems, methods, and connectors are provided that introduce a working gas at certain times into a reduced-pressure dressing into order to break or avoid vacuum locks in the conduits removing fluids. In one instance, a reduced-pressure connector includes a connector body for applying a reduced pressure to the tissue site. The connector body is formed with a venting port, a body conduit, and a receptacle to receive a reduced-pressure delivery conduit. The reduced-pressure connector includes a flexible member coupled to the connector body over the venting port. The flexible member is formed with at least one venting aperture. The flexible member is biased away from the venting port and is configured to collapse and seal the venting port under a reduced pressure greater than a threshold pressure. Other systems, apparatuses, and methods are disclosed.

The first pressure is less than the second pressure. A conduit provides fluid communication between the regulated chamber and the charging chamber. A regulator member is operably associated with the conduit to prevent fluid communication through the conduit when the second pressure is less than or equal to a desired therapy pressure and to allow fluid communication through the conduit when the second pressure exceeds the desired therapy pressure.

摘要： A reduced pressure treatment system includes a reduced pressure source and a reduced pressure dressing. The dressing includes an interface layer adapted to be positioned at a tissue site and an absorbent layer in fluid communication with the interface layer to absorb liquid from at least one of the interface layer and the tissue site. A diverter layer is positioned adjacent the absorbent layer, and the diverter layer includes a plurality of apertures in fluid communication with the absorbent layer to distribute a reduced pressure to the absorbent layer. A cover is positioned over the diverter layer to maintain the reduced pressure at the tissue site.

摘要： The invention provides methods enabling: (1) a blood donor to utilize the buffy coat of a blood sample to provide for autologous and/or allogeneic transplantation of certain components within the buffy coat; (2) segregation of a blood sample into component parts, including at least two samples, wherein a first sample is directed to autologous treatment of the blood donor or donor family member (an allogeneic treatment), and the other sample is directed to allogeneic treatment of diseases or organ creation for the general population (non-family members). Blood samples may be cryopreserved before use in the instant invention. In addition, the cryopreserved cells may be given to a researcher as a source of non-controversial biological material (stem cells or other cells). Of course, the present methods also encourage individuals to store their own cells for use in the near future of with future technical advances and to preserve today for tomorrow's technology sm . In one embodiment of the invention, blood samples are: (1) separated into components of the buffy coat and in particular, stem and/or progenitor cells; (2) genetically analyzed to assess genetic predisposition to disease in a donor family history; and (3) are dedicated to use by a donor family member in the event the family member succumbs to a disease state consistent with the genetic analysis.
