    • A dose valve with eccentric opening function with power torque in use when gravitation casting of liquid metal (Fig. 1), where the outlet valve rod (3a) goes centric inside the inlet valve rod (5a) that again form a seal between the openings in respectively the inlet chamber (6) and the dose chamber (4) so that this becomes a dose valve. The valve rods and chambers have conical sides that form a seal when they are closed. The chambers have sloped bottoms so the risks of deposits of metal inside the chamber will be as little as possible. The valve's opening and closing function performed by the valve opening rods (17, 23) that are shaped according to the lever principle and together with the counterweight rods (11, 12) make the function without further description of the attachment. The valve opening rods (17, 23) open respectively the inlet chamber (6) and the dose chamber (4) that execute the filling and outlet function in the valve. The valve opening rods (17, 23) have an S - shape that is intended to maintain the pressure as centric as possible on the valve rods when operated, and also move the pressure point away from the rods and increase the power torque when opening the valve. To let the valve achieve controlled fluctuation it is calculated to use adjustable distance rods (10). The compression springs (14, 20), the pressure equalized discs (15, 22) and the nuts (16, 21) form the automatic closing mechanism in the valve.

    • The invention relates to a refractory casting member for the casting of a molten metal in a substantially downward direction from an upper metallurgic vessel to a lower metallurgic vessel, said casting member having a substantially axial flow channel extending from its upper end to its lower end and comprising: i) a connecting portion adapted to connect the casting member to the upper metallurgic vessel; ii) a substantially tubular portion extending from the collecting portion to a regulating portion; and iii) a regulating portion. The casting member of the invention is characterised in that said regulating portion comprises a rotor rotatable in a stator about an axis aligned substantially horizontally and a stator, formed in an extension of the tubular portion, having a recess complementary to said rotor and in that the flow channel section is modifiable by movement of the rotor. In another of its aspects, the invention relates for a particular rotor to be used in said casting member.

    • A driving device of a closing and/or regulating mechanism (2) for tapping liquid molten baths from a container (1) has a an extension arm (9) extending substantially horizontally on the container, height-adjustably mounted on a support (7) that can be fixed outside the container (1) and can be coupled on top of the container with a driving rod (12) entering vertically into the inside of the container. The extension arm (9) is height-adjustably propped on the support (7) in such a way that the driving rod (12) exerts a defined pressure on the rotor (4) and this in turn on the stator (3). The extension arm (9) is supported on at least one pressure spring (14) fixed on the support (7), the prestressing force of which can be regulated in such a way that the desired pressure of the driving rod (12) on the rotor can be obtained, thereby producing optimal sealing between said rotor and the stator.
