摘要： The invention proposes a method to provide privacy for users or a user from a group of users with respect to authorizations they are granted, where such authorizations are expressed using digital authorization certificates, and with respect to domain certificates in case of groups of users. The idea is to conceal the user identity in the certificates, while the certificate itself remains in the clear. In this way, certificates can be widely and openly available, e.g. in a public network, without a random observer being able to link a user to an authorization or to identify a user within a domain. Privacy is also provided towards the certificate verifier by means of zero-knowledge protocols, which are carried out between the user and the verifier in order for the verifier to check a user's entitlement to a certificate. Privacy is further provided towards the certificate issuer as well, by means of a mechanism that allows the anonymous (buying or) issuing of certificates from the issuer.

摘要： A broadcast data stream that contains a stream of encrypted data and a stream of messages. Data in successive segments of the stream of encrypted data is decryptable with successive decryption information from the messages. The stream of encrypted data is stored upon reception. The items with decryption information for the encrypted data are stored independently retrievable from the stream. Additionally synchronization information is generated and stored to link respective points in the stored stream of encrypted data to respective ones of the items with decryption information. During replay of a stored part of the stream of encrypted data the items with decryption information for the points in said stored part are retrieved. The retrieved items with decryption information are combined with the stream during replay at times selected under control of the synchronization information. The stream is fed to a decoder and the decryption information is combined with the stream by feeding the decryption information to a secure device, which in response to the decryption information feeds control words to the decoder.

摘要： In Authorized Domains the management of which devices that can access content is a key issue. The Authorized Domain must be limited to a relatively small group of devices to get a solution that is acceptable to both content providers and users. However, current solutions are typically either to rigid to be future proof and user friendly or not effective enough in limiting the size of the Authorized Domain. This invention provides a user-friendly, flexible and yet effective method of managing the size of an Authorized Domain. The method proposes to group devices in the Authorized Domain into clusters, if a predetermined requirement is met, and to limit the number of clusters. Such a predetermined requirement could be a proximity requirement.

The manager issues to a new device joining the network a number of symmetric authentication keys, and preferably a number of authentication tickets. Each respective authentication key allows the new device to communicate securely with one respective other device comprised in the network. Each respective authentication ticket allows a device with a first identifier to authenticate itself to a device with a second identifier. The new device receives those authentication tickets whose first identifier matches its identifier. The new device presents the ticket with second identifier ‘B’ to device ‘B’ to authenticate itself to ‘B’. Preferably the domain manager generates a number of master device keys and issues one to the new device. Then the authentication tickets can be encrypted with the master device key issued to device with the second identifier.
