摘要： A prosthesis comprising: an inner layer (4) formed from a polyaryletherketone; a first outer layer (2a) adjacent to said inner layer formed from a porous polyaryletherketone, at least some of said pores having located therein material to promote osteointegration; and a second outer layer (2b) adjacent to said first outer layer formed from a porous polyaryletherketone, a portion of said pores being free of material to promote osteointegration. The invention also relates to a method of manufacture of the prosthesis. In an alternative arrangement, the prosthesis comprises: an inner layer formed from a polyaryletherketone; a first outer layer adjacent to said inner layer formed from a porous polyaryletherketone, at least some of said pores having located therein material to promote osteointegration having a crystallinity of from about 60 % to about 9 0 %; and a second outer layer adjacent to said first outer layer formed from a porous polyaryletherketone, at least a portion of said pores having located therein material to promote osteointegration having a crystallinity of less than about 50 %.

摘要： A tissue scaffold fabricated from bioinert fiber forms a rigid three-dimensional porous matrix having a bioinert composition. Porosity in the form of interconnected pore space is provided by the space between the bioinert fiber in the porous matrix. Strength of the porous matrix is provided by bioinert fiber fused and bonded into the rigid three-dimensional matrix having a specific pore size and pore size distribution. The tissue scaffold supports tissue in-growth to provide osteoconductivity as a tissue scaffold, used for the repair of damaged and/or diseased bone tissue.

摘要： The embodiments provide a spinal implant (10) that is configured for midline insertion into a patient's intervertebral disc space. The spinal implant (10) may have a body and the body comprises one or more apertures (26). The apertures (26) receive fixation elements (40), such as a screw and the like. The fixation element may comprise one or more anti-backout features, such as a split ring. In addition, at least some of the apertures are designed to permit a predetermined amount of nutation by a fixation element. The apertures that allow nutation enable the fixation element to toggle from one position to another, for example, during subsidence of the implant in situ. Some of the apertures may be configured to rigidly lock with the fixation elements. Moreover, the spinal implant may include features, such as one or more bores, that can accommodate imaging marks to help guide a surgeon.

摘要： The implant (20) is shaped to generally mimic the form of the trapezium (12), or portions thereof. For example, the implant optionally defines a first metacarpal projection (32) and a second metacarpal projection (34) spaced from the first metacarpal projection to form a C-type, or cuff-type receptacle (36) for receiving the first metacarpal (15) such as the first and second metacarpal projections extend along either side of the first metacarpal. The receptacle optionally acts as a support surface (36A) for the first metacarpal during articulation thereof. In some embodiments, the first metacarpal projection is configured to extend adjacent the end portion of the first metacarpal that is adjacent the CMC joint (10) and the second metacarpal projection is configured to extend into the space (19) between the end portions of the first and second metacarpals (15, 18), thereby helping maintain the intermetacarpal spacing between the first and second metacarpals. 摘要： A system for the in situ formation of prostheses between adjacent vertebrae of a patient. The system includes a first mold (54) adapted to be located in an intervertebral disc space between the adjacent vertebrae and at least a second mold adapted to be positioned between adjacent posterior elements. Lumens (52) are fluidly coupled to each of the molds. One or more in situ curable biomaterials (70) are delivered through the lumens to the molds. The at least partially cured biomaterial and the molds cooperate to maintain a desired alignment and spacing of the intervertebral disc space and the posterior elements.
